Avocado Shake
I have a quick and easy recipe for you today. My friend posted a photo yesterday of an avocado shake she had at a restaurant, and it looked so good. It made me want one. I have seen them before at bubble tea places and some Vietnamese restaurants, but never tried it. I did a bit of research on it and apparently the literal translation of its Vietnamese name-Sinh tố bơ- means " butter fruit smoothie". It is really thick, creamy and delicious...
There are many variations on how to make it. Although traditionally it is made with sweetened condensed milk, it can be made with regular milk, almond milk, coconut milk, whatever you'd like- for a lighter version. If you are not using sweetened milk then you may need to add in some sugar, honey or vanilla extract.
Ingredients:
- 1 avocado
- ice ( approx 5 cubes)
- 2-4 T condensed milk (or milk of choice and honey, sugar, or dates)
- 1/2 cup skim milk-optional: whip cream or fat free cool whip
Directions
blend avocado, ice and milks in a blender until ice is crushed. Add milk if you want to make it thinner. Pour into a glass, top with whip cream if using. Enjoy!!
I ate this for breakfast this morning and it was amazing!!
* FULL DISCLOSURE- I used condensed milk, skim milk and real whip cream-
