Revitalizing Smoothie

Good morning all and happy Friday. I have been on a major smoothie kick lately- well smoothies and Nutriblasts! Nutriblast is just the nickname for drinks made with Nutribullet.

I first tried the Nutribullet at C and S's and was only able to restrain myself for a few days before deciding that  I absolutely needed one of my own. They are available at Bed Bath and Beyond ( you can get -20% by signing up for their newsletter online) and at Canadian Tire. It is made by the same company as magic bullet, but also extracts the juices from fruits and vegetables so you barely need to add any liquid.  I think I will make a video comparison to illustrate the difference- stay tuned.  Don't get me wrong, magic bullet is great, but Nutribullet is a different species- its a mix between a juicer and a blender- it  is a lot more powerful, bigger and is more in line with Vita mix or Blend Tec, albeit much more affordable!

I used to make smoothies with mostly fruit, and they can be delicious (hello delicious mango banana smoothie seen above) , but lately I've been incorporating more veggies- kale, spinach, avocado, beats (hence the bright red of the smoothie on the bottom left) and the results are healthier and more filling.

Here is my current fave recipe, inspired by a recipe on NutriLiving Site. It can be made in your blender of choice.

Ingredients:
- Kale
- 1/2 cup blueberries
- 1/4-1/2 avocado
- 1/2 banana
- 1 Tablespoon almond butter
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds
- ice
- vanilla almond milk (or plain)

blend, enjoy!!
