This summer was a bit of a cool one here in Ottawa. We had rain for days, beating all kinds of records. If it weren't for our trip to Europe, it wouldn't have felt much like summer at all. But this fall, wow!!! It's been so hot. This past weekend was 30 degrees both days. All last week we had sunny, warm weather. I love it. It's the best of both worlds. Warmth and beautiful fall colours.
I went for a run one morning last week and was so sweaty after that I decided to whip up smoothies.
I try to mix things up, but always have a few key ingredients- banana, almond milk, some sort of frozen fruit. Here I also added freeze-dried strawberries. Delicious! It gives the smoothie a bit of a sour, refreshing taste.
One important thing to remember is to stick to one or two types of fruit. That way, you can vary the flavours each time you make one.
